GOLSPIE VILLAGE
January 22, 2020
Golspie is a village in East Sutherland which has a population of some 1650 people.

Overlooked by Ben Bhraggie and the famous Statue of the Duke of Sutherland (known locally as "the mannie") the village boasts a plethora of activities and sights for the visitor.

Though the village was formally set up in the early 1800s as a fishing village, its history goes back to pre history as shown by the several brochs close to the village and the ancient prehistoric sites in the locality.

The village has a swimming pool, kart track, braid designed golf course, tennis courts as well as an abundance of nature and wildlife on its doorstep in the form of the loch fleet nature reserve.

For those wishing to visit, there are several hotels and multiple Bed and Breakfasts around the village as well as self catering accomodation and camp sites.
