April rising

Had a few hours to spare so I headed up to Loch Lunndaidh for a cast or two.

Walking up the track to the loch I couldn't help but stop and take in the panoramic views of Loch Fleet and beyond basking in the warm spring sunshine.

On arriving at the Loch, the wind was blowing favourably for fishing the near shore and I could see a few trout rising with a loud splash . Ideal.

I tied on a dabbler and a Red Arsed Green Peter variant and began to work my way up the shore. I must have missed a dozen fish before a change of retrieve got some positive hook ups. Nothing bigger than 10 inches or so, but wild and fighting freestyle.

All in all an enjoyable few hours and not another soul in sight.
