Sorry the blog fell by the wayside.
A marital break up a year ago means I don't live in the village anymore, so haven't been fishing the club lochs.
Popped up to Loch Horn for a few hours there on Thursday.
Bright day with a chilly wind which was blowing towards the wind farm end of the loch.
The loch is quite low, not the lowest I've seen it by any means, but the wee burn is a trickle.
No fish showing at the dam end whatsoever and a long drift down the shoreline only resulted in a single fish of about 14cm.
I then saw an Osprey hunting and making several (unsuccessful) dives so that showed me where the fish were!
I then concentrated on the wind farm end.
That was the right decision as 20+ fish picked up along the far shore in increasingly large waves. Red Arsed Green Peter , tied wet on a size 12 with JC cheeks taking the majority and a couple on a black pennell.
Quite a large wave by the end of the day, but didn't deter the fish and more than once they came crashing put of a cresting wave to try to grab the bob fly!
Just a quick post script ,
Boat was left beached on the shore when I arrived, please don't leave it like this folks, if there's a change in weather and the loch rises the boat will get damaged when it gets blown about.
