Warming up

After an unseasonably cold few weeks at the start of May, it's finally starting to warm up.

Lochs are still a hit or a miss when it comes to surface activity, but the usual early season suspects, brown mayfly , gnats and small crane fly are all on the go and the underwater vegetation is slowly but surely pushing its way surfacewards.

Session on Horn yesterday in the float tube brought 16 fish to the net from 8 -16 inches. Fish very much hugging the shoreline with most being caught in a few inches of water.

A changeable day with black water, cloudy skies and bursts of sunshine. The day ended with a downpour intermixed with hailstones just as I got back to the car.
